Re: What year V should i get?

Just received a call, Going to test drive a black on black 09 at Noon. If my Tattoos and 2" ear-lobes dont intimidate them, hopefully the TEST drive does. I know I am going to have to negotiate price.

Re: What year V should i get?

Well after looking at some figures I kinda like the LS2 with the broader torque band plus it does have more cubes but it doesn’t have the mod capabilities the LS6 has… decisions decisions

Condition, Condition, Condition...LS6 or LS2 they will both get you tickets, but if the condition is bad, it is going to COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no not again! honestly I'd echo the others that said "go for the best deal"

Yeah the LS6 is more "exclusive", the LS2 is a truck motor, both develop almost identical power.

I myself leaned to the 06-07 because of the following

- upgraded diff (part number 157***although most Vs with the earlier rev'd rear end have had them replaced so it's not so much of an issue anymore)

- LS2 has a beefier timing chain than the LS6 (again nothing to hang your hat on, as it's not much different)

- halfshafts, the 06-07 models got slightly larger halfshafts (only like .25 or .5 larger in diameter... again not a big deal)

The LS6 does have a more agressive CAM, which makes up for the whopping .3L displacement, and it does have sodium filled valves which are better than the LS2....

So honestly... get the best deal... I'd make sure the rear diff part # started with 157***** or else make sure it's got some sort of a warranty on it...

IMHO

PS. of course black is the fastest color so whatever year you pick... you can't beat black..... but you also can't keep it clean
