Disabling TPMS Need Clarification from the FAQ

Remove this ad
Hey guys,

I did a search and posted in another thread but it doesn't seem to be getting any responses. I just bought a set of track wheels with no TPMS and do not want to use them in this set of rims. I do however want to drive to the track on my rims that DO have TPMS in them.

The issue is that I do not want to drive around for 60 miles and hide my street rims somewhere far away during the entire track day in order to use competitive driving mode. I checked in the FAQ http://cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/tpm/index.html and it seems that I can disable the TPMS and Keyless entry by pulling the ARS fuse.

My questions are:
1) Where exactly is this fuse located?
2) How do I get to the fuses under the rear seat?
3) Has anyone tried this and does it actually work?
4) Are there any adverse effects on the Keyless Entry system after the fuse
is replaced?

Thanks for any help.

2) To get to the fuses under the rear seat just lift up hard on the bottom of the rear seat and then pull forward. The lower portion of the rear seat is 1 piece and lifts up and out with little fuss.

The fuse box is at the front of each rear seat and is 1 foot long and 1.5 inches wide (black) with a pop-latch lid that holds them on.

I dont know for sure, but I doubt it. The program for the remotes is stored in the computer; and my battery has been dead for more than a month before without effecting it.

I think upon reinstalling the fuse so will the TPS. You'll have to try with a Tech ll. It worked on Brian's OS for 06-07. But not sure if that applies to 04-05.

What does that fuse do normally? I would leave it out the entire time I have the track wheels on.

Don't know if this helps, cuz I didn't try competition mode but,,,,,,
I have TPS on both sets of wheels. When I swap them out,I get no alerts. It just stays on the last pressure recorded, until I re-program.
