Connecting rod through the block and oil pan.

I would make Cadillac figure out what caused the failure at their expense....Thats just unacceptable on a stock, taken car of 50,000 mile luxury performance car, warranty or no warranty. |

I've heard of BMWs doing this, but not a V ... at least, not under the conditions you describe. These motors should go at least 150k under moderate driving without a hickup, then you'd be looking at a timing chain or something.

If the dealer totally stiffs you I'd get a motor upgrade like mentioned above and strip your motor down and part it out.... you got a LS2.... I might be able to take some parts off your hands  Let us know and I'm sure the guys here will "help you out"  | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
