Their ace mechanic told the GM rep that due to oil and coolant sprayed underneath the whole length of the car that I must've been going at an extremely high rate of speed. The inept GM rep also said that the stabilizer I installed on the engine is a modification that help lead to the failure..wtf? I finally ferretted out that the GM rep ask the mechanic if there were any mods. He let her know I added a 'stabilizer'...a.k.a a Kars Stage III kit. Somehow she concluded that affected the engine. I'm bumping up the chain of command, but considering I'm 12 mos. out of warranty and GM's market cap is below Ford's, I'm not optimistic. I'll also try other dealers to see if they can give a more realistic diagnosis.
In a parallel effort, I welcome suggestions for a new engine. Any links and contact info to stock rebuilds, strokers, retrofit kits, etc. are welcome. I'd even consider turning the whole project over to a competent shop in the NE. I'm thinking headers and few other goodies while I'm at it. The dealer quoted $6500 for the heart transplant.

ITS YOUR FAULT man! you were racing it! Oh wait that cags!
Dealers are all the same, I mean I don't expect them to cover it but they lie to make it look like its not the car.
I mean can't we be honest at least? Its out of warranty so why do they feel they need to lie and make excuses? It blew up, something failed in the engine period. I know they don't want to take the time to actually diagnose it but jeeze. aholes |

They tend to not care who the money is coming from, you or GM, as long as they are getting payed. The one I use now has yet to ever say a word about my big shiney intake. |

Reply was "yes". Then why the f--k don't you provide and honest opinion that helps you get paid? |

I'll bet they have the audacity to try and charge me their $89 minimum diagnostic charge. I'm sure I'll be blowing a gasket when that happens.
This is a dealer I bought my first new vehicle from in 1985...a K30 pickup for $15k. |

Bottom line is that this motor should not have failed, but it did, and it's out of warranty. Maybe if the dealer in question was doing well financially, they'd do more ... maybe ... I don't know. This is a very unfortunate situation, no doubt, but it's business. I hope all goes well, mostoyz ... honestly. |

Still working the warranty angle but found two replacement engines onlines. One from an '05 V another from a Vette. Still welcoming links to reasonably priced strokers or the likes. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
