Engines goes from purring to a wrist pin going up and down inside a cylinder in a few nano-seconds. |

If you’ve ever done that before, the RPM goes through the roof. It’s makes you cringe, but I went on to make two more passes anyway. A few weeks later I decided to tear down the motor and sent the pistons out to be fly cut. I noticed that I had two bent valves, but the pistons looked OK, so I thought.
The machinist called me the next day and said when he when to cut one of the pistons it came apart. (Still have it) Six months later I had a roller lifter holder come apart on the way back from Potrero. It turned sideways in the bore and the cam came around and wacked it into a thousand pieces. Had to have the car towed all the way back to San Diego.
I really don’t miss that car.
I feel for your loss though. |
