Cadillac(s): 2006 CTS-V | | Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Chicago, IL | | | Looking for detailed engine bay / ECU wiring diagrams I'm not going to go into the cause or the #$(*#(*$ reasons why, but I have an outstanding task to fix damage to my LS2 ECU main wiring harness. So I'm looking for a detailed mapping of wiring color codes for the ECU or the entire engine bay.
I have looked online, at the FAQ, and even did a cursory search here....fruitless for that level of detail
If someone has this information in a LS2 wiring diagram I would be more than grateful. I need to repair the wiring between the ECU and the fuse block, knowing which wires are what and where they go would be just a LITTLE helpful with the troubleshooting that is bound to follow
PM me if you got any info.
Thanks!

I bought mine, which is the official GM licensed version, through Helminc.com. Cost is about $135. |

Ditto that.
I have the manuals as well. About 13" thick spread across 3 volumes. It has a LOT of wiring diagrams.

I believe it has the same information as the printed service manuals.
when I get home I'll see what I can find for you on the copy that I have. |

Anyone have a digital copy they want to part with?
Service manual eh? ......now why didn't I think of that. If it has detailed wiring docs... then it's worth it just for that. Thanks guys. Even if I have to buy a printed one.. it'll be worth it.

Let me know, unless I want to pay 50 bucks for the Helminic overnight shipping I will not get it in the next couple days. I'll pry buy it anyways, but just won't have it in time for the repairs. |

Unless you strip the harness of the black coatings and disect and lead each wire to where it is supposed to go or you'll never match by color as they use the same color multiple times.
Good luck!

The dealer quoted me 1000.00 for a new harness. GM doesn't mess around anymore... 1 harness for every sensor and plug on the whole motor.
I did see a guy on ebay selling custom ls2 harnesses (minus ECU) for ~600 something. no digital service manuals though...I have seen them in the past both here and on ebay..... figures when I actually need one they are all gone.
I was afraid that GM might switch colors (I have seen that on some previous chevy's I have had in the past) I guess I was hoping that the service manual showed the color out of the ECU and what it was for... regardless of the color it changed to on the way there. |

i had to rebuild mine at the ECU connectors and it wasn't cheap. i had to buy new connector plugs and new wire terminals and that was ~$200 with the discount as cost on those little terminals is $1.79-$2.49 EACH and there's quite a few of them.
a new harness might be closer to $500 at cost but you'd probably have to lift the motor to be able to route it correctly to all the sensors that have to plug in. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are but either way it's not an easy job.
i decided to repair mine and paid a tech at the dealership to fix it as a side job. it took him ~5 hrs to do from what he said. good luck. |

I also ended up repairing my harness and not buying a new one. It was just too bitter of a pill to swallow. It took me almost 8hrs to repair it all but hopefully it should hold up well...
my only regret is my fogs don't work now.... I'm willing to bet I had something to do with it Of course rewiring the main ECU if I had to pick something to not work correctly... I'd pick the fogs.... and I'm not taking it apart again just to trouble shoot that ... I'd rather run another jumper for the lights when I get around to it.
Bottom line it... either way it takes a SH*(% ton of hrs to fix. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
