Thoughts on widening the stock wheels?

Widen the stock rears to 9.5 or 10 inches... run 275/40... very stealth... and I love the look of the stock wheels.
Offset should work out to be almost perfect since the added wheel width needs to go inboard anyway (wouldn't need a spacer)

What about safety? Reliablity? Anyone do this on another car?

I love the thought as I love the look of the stock wheels but would love to run bigger meats. Just don't know that it's doable...if you find someone that can do it...holler! )

So far this is the best option for me, I am getting the platinum V and I want to keep the stock wheels. Widening them would be perfect, wonder how wide those wheel wells can handle.
