Which is it? 6 qts or 6-1/2 qts?

The results are indeed interesting. It appears that the K&N Gold has yet to be reviewed, unless there was an updated page which I didn't see.

When looking at the latest Mobil 1 filter pn M1 107, I wanted to compare it to the K&N Gold equivalent pn HP1007. While looking at the business end of both filters, they were identical and appeared to be from the same manufacturer even down to the stamping on the plate.

Excellent find, Jim! Kinda wish the guy had more done, but at least I can sleep tonight with that Tough Guard Fram under my hood. That Mobil 1 looks decent and not too difficult to find if you can get it at AutoZone. Too bad he doesn't have that Amsoil filter analyzed yet.

Just an FYI to anyone rushing out to buy the Mobil 1 M107. This will work for '04-'06 but not '07. Some genius changed the threads for 2007, it takes an M113. Don't ask how I know, suffice it to say that the story involves swearing, 2 - M107's, 1 - M113, a screwdriver, razor knife, sand paper, 3 trips to Autozone and ends in throwing an M107 across the yard and being late for work.

Yeah, that's an older study. There is a much newer one but I didn't have time to find it. I used to have it bookmarked on my old laptop. I'll see if I can find it...
