New V Owner and have a few Q's

Remove this ad
I recently purchased a certified 05 CTS-V. Upon inspecting a few things I noticed that the center console arm rest is actually cracked on the underside. The plastic in the center where it attaches to the inner bracket has broken loose. I was wondering if this would be something Cadillac may consider under the cerified warranty? Also is the vin check thread the best way to find out a bit more on the history with regards to any recall work performed previously on the vehicle? I am new and just starting to check out the FAQ section and all tonight. Thanks.

Re: New V Owner and have a few Q's

I had the same problem with my armest and I had it replaced under warranty without issue, but I have a GREAT service advisor at my dealer.

Yes, the VIN check will give you a very good indication as to what kind of shape the car is in.

How's the car? Don't you love it?

Re: New V Owner and have a few Q's

I had a 03 Acura CL Type S for over 4 years and loved it but was loking for something with 4 doors that would be fun. This was definitly it. I test drove one here in town with triple the miles of the one I was looking at purchasing in a different city. I was amazed by the lack of major rattles and noises even though the one I test drove had over 85k on it. I wound up going to PHX for this one as my local town has only had one or two over the last 4 mo. I have been looking. Since getting it I absolutely love it. Shifts a lot different than my old CL even though both have 6mt. I am glad it is certified to for over another three years

Throw a Short Throw Shifter and Bushings in there, and you'll fall in love all over again. That stock shifter is CRAP

+1000, It has more storage, it makes my arm sit more level with the shifter. The only downside is it interferes with my "gangsta lean" when I want to get real low...
