    Super V Coming?

On the WJR auto report this morning:

    - CTS super-V
    - 600 HP
    - Exotic materials for the body
    - $65K price

Probably old news, but first time I heard it on the radio.

Be careful, my wife is pretty tuff. She is already making plans to get one.

I'm gonna have to supercharge the Z06 to keep up with her!!!

Wow! Talk about a new M5 killer. At 600HP the motor has to have all forged internals, and would be able to withstand 1000+hp. I dobt GM will even screw around with the hyper pistons and cast cranks for the 500hp ZO7.

I understand that GM has already grenaded some LS7 motors.

I have already put things in motion, finding out from one of the Michigan higher-ups about the car and whether any of this is for real. Will let everyone know.

The only response I got was that they could neither confirm nor deny the production of the car, or whether it would be a straight from GM, or through dealers. I guess time will tell.

I have seen them also. The person I got e-mail response from is same person who tracked the part numbers for the FG2 shocks for me, well before they were available. Info was provided some time ago, in a long lost thread. The interesting point will be the direct from GM part. That will be a hard sell to the dealers, since it will present an interesting test of the dealer agreement GM has with it's dealers. Will be hard to convince them to let GM compete directly with them, IMO. We will see.

    Re: Super V Coming?

At 500 total units I doubt there will be too many that would even make it to dealers that wouldn't be pre-ordered or bought by GM execs/employees.

I think it's a good idea but then again I am not a car dealer and don't particularly like car dealers (no offense to those here, who are very cool and helpful). If GM wants to produce a car basically for the true rabid enthusiasts and make it super elite, I'll be right there with my checkbook. Color me enthused!

    Re: Super V Coming?

I have a few small issues with that suggestion.

Won't fit at all now, you would have to drastically widen the car.

Heat, lots and lots of heat.
