"The V is such a sleeper I love to see their contorted teutonic faces when the V blasts by. BMW guys are the best. "

This is one of the funniest things I've read/heard in a long time...

Not only a sleeper but it seems that those who know what it is, can't believe it , and those who don't know what it is/can do are just in total amazement .

i got a job for my dad as a high school grad gift. and that was to pay for college.

after getting a full scholarship to college i was able to use some of that money to buy a car, but it was nowhere near a v.

    RANT---RANT---RANT--- RANT---RANT---RANT--- RANT---RANT---

Warning heading WAY off topic here

In the famous words of Dennis Miller “I don’t want to go off on a rant here”, but M5 or a V for high school?

During high school I had a job, and as a graduation gift I got a diploma. I am so tired of hearing “I got an M5 for a grad gift”. What ever happened to teaching our children that life is not free, and you have to work to get what you want? A M5 or a CTS-V for graduating high school? What do you get for graduating college, anal with the Olsen twins? What happens if you get an advanced degree?

I think it is great that the parents want to help the children out, but car is one thing, a M5 or a CTS-V is totally different. To give a kid (yes, after high school your still a kid) that kind of car and pay the insurance, gas, etc you take away the lessons of working to achieve something. Can you image the insurance cost for a high school kid (male?) on a M5 or a CTS-V?

I look beyond the gift of the moment; I thank my family for not giving me an easy childhood in place of having a life I know I earned and continue to earn everyday. I know there is nothing I can’t get out of now because of these lessons.

So to you ‘guys’ that have been given a car that you ‘deserve’ for making number two and wiping yourself, cheers. I will keep saving up so I can buy my son the latest greatest rocket when he graduates high school (a Kia with a stoker motor)

i agree. between a scholarship and working 20 to 30 hours a week i paid for EVERYTHING in college. and let me tell you, books are cheap. and now i'm 23 and i just bought a used '02 EXT. it's not as good as a v or a new car, but it's still pretty damn nice and i bought it with my money that i worked hard for. and i'm proud of myself for being that position.

You should be proud for the hard work. At 23 I didn't have anything as nice as a '02 EXT. At 35 I now have cars/toys that I want, and I pay/paid for them.
