With close to 400 ft/lbs of twist there are VERY few cars that can run with the V if you start when both of you are moving. The V's challenge is launching from a dead start.

Sounds like you were pretty slow at start (only up to 40 when you quit) next time get it down to second. Otherwise all you do is let this "pickup truck driver" think he got the best of you. I know we got lots of torque but work the gears bro. She simply screams when you stoke her right.

Also with the V's brakes that mammoth Ford POS, not you, would have to brake first or smash into the cars in front of him....................Throw some curves into the mix and you will never see that truck again.

Now get back out there and do us right!
I must clarify. We were rollin' at around 80 when it started and took it up 40 or so from there. I was yawning at the guy the whole time. I only need one hand on the wheel untill about 130. I was not racing him.....just rollin' with him. I know my car is filthy. Once you have a car in this league it is more about the driver skills. Also, I don't really want anybody to crash(mostly). I just want SLOWER TRAFFIC to KEEP RIGHT!!!

Yes, and this is one of the many reasons I am glad I didn't get the M3 when I had one signed and sealed (nearly). They are driven in my area by mostly 18-21 year olds.

The CLK55 and CLK430 were both driven by mid-20s kids with their hat brims tilted to the side and sticking up in the air. I wonder what it is about them and having 60k+ cars. The one in the 430 was so pissed he told me I was lucky he didn't have his M3 or he would have 'smoked' me. Where does a homie get over 100k to drop in cars? I'm guessing daddy's checkbook.

Re: Rolled With A Very Fast Pick-Up Truck(Lightning).

I have one killer update from this weekend.

Under Cover Police crusier down the 202 on Sat afternoon.

I was tooling along at 80 (speed limit is 65) and I come up on the back of a blacked out crown vic with all the tell tale signs of a cruiser. My pucker factor climbs to 10 as he pulls over and allows me to pull along side. I look at him and he looked at me, then the badge and gave a huge grin. Pucker factor slowly lowered. I smiled back and he looked ahead I looked and there was some open road. I figured well if he was gonna pull me over he would have by now. So I nodded my head like “Wanna go?” and he nodded back. I waited till I heard his motor kick in and I jumped on it (not all but enough to stay with him). I pulled ahead a little and then I started backing off as we got closer to traffic and I didn’t want to push my luck (pucker factor was back in check at this point). It is good to know there are some guy in blue that do still have some fun when they can.

    Cheers,

    Dgtal

Those FORD lightnings are very fast trucks (14 sec 1/4).. next time down shift and you will walk away from him above 60 MPH...

If it was anything turbo, you probably would have lost. Most of the 928's v8 are usually tired by now. But it was a 955? No shit?

I never mess with the Highway Patrol officers, because they are all about writing speeding tickets. The city cops who happen to be on the freeways, though, in general couldn't care less about your speed. They are on the freeway because they are on their way somewhere and don't want to stop just to write an out of jurisdiction ticket. Also remember that on city streets the municipality that you're in makes a big difference. For example, in Glendale, it is a manditory trip to jail for 21+ miles over the limit. So have fun, but remember you are tempting fate racing cops.

Maybe that's why they don't care about racing through traffic; not their bill if they hit anything or anyone.

Doubt you will see too many kids driving the Vs around, just like you don't see them in Vipers, but I should probably knock on wood anyhow.

AZstar - Your point is well taken, I just got the hunch that he was cool like that. Also the car looked very Under cover, not cherries on top, or markings on the sides, etc.

I had the pleasure of surprising a SVT Cobra this morning on the way to work. He had no idea what was up! By the end of 1st gear I had 1/2 a car on him and it grew to a car length by the end of 2nd. That was it for me with the area we were in, but he felt compelled to continue on alone.

It sure felt good knowing that the SVT has turned in low 13's or 12.90's in all the tests I have seen.

Z06Cady - I really like the expression on the SVT guys when you pull up. If they know what the car is they get (pardon my French) butt-hurt, and if they don't they still think they have a chance (those guys are more fun, since the car will allow you to play cat and mouse with them all day.

Rolled (sorta) with a GRAND PRIX (yes, you heard me correctly, he started it!) and one of the baby CTS's but that was just showing off.

Some dope with 3 kids in the car in a WRX seemed to want to race me on his own terms...letting me get ahead then speeding past me...but smoked him to 100 out of the tollbooth and even had to let off the throttle because I didn't know he was still on his. Showed him a close-up of the tailpipe before I took my exit, just because he was a bozo.

I have the worst luck with running into anything with a decent engine on the Parkway, ah well summer is here I'm sure it'll change soon enough.

Re: Rolled With A Very Fast Pick-Up Truck(Lightning).

I was putzing along when from a side street a Subaru WRX pulls up to the stop sign and waits for me to go by. He pulls out and follows me quite closely. I roll into the throttle and were doing pretty good. My destination is close so I turn on my left signal about the normal distance away from my turn, but knowing the brembo's I keep up the speed. I'm in the left lane (getting ready to turn left) he's in the right lane.
Just as I get to my turn I brake hard and cut the wheel. In a flash I was cruiseing nicely down the next road. I can only imagine how many holy craps he must have said when he saw how excellent these brakes are.
