I am flying in Wednesday to pick up my 05 V (hopefully this time things go better- if not I have found 4 or 5 others that I will be looking at while I am there since Perfect bought the only one that has been for sale around here).
The dealer who has it said it doesn't have a spare and since I am driving 10 hours home to Omaha would like to have one just in case. The dealer said he would do what he could to get me one but won't spend the $700 that Cadillac wants for one. Thanks for your help. |

It's a stock size Goodyear F1 All Season with about 3 K miles on it, practically brand new.
Where are you picking the car up at ?

Thanks though, I am not sure that I would benefit from having a tire without a wheel. |

The one I am going after is at a dealer I have a whole lot more confidence in, but still am going prepared since there are others for sale in that area. Only 1 here and not interested in that one...
Did you take a look at that car? How did it look if you did?
I see Sewell of Grapevine has one too but in stealth grey. |

The wheels had a bit of curb rash on a couple of them, but the tires were new (toyo). It's a certified pre-owned car and the maintenance history shows only 4 entries.
03/08 - tail lamp bulb replace and rear diff seal (recall)
05/08 - right air vent deflector replace and seatbelt retractor. |

I drove the stealth gray one at Sewell Grapevine while my car was in for a new tranny 3 weeks ago. Don't buy that one, the guy who had it before beat on it pretty good, I got to see it in "pre-certified" shape. It's cleaned up and fixed now, but you don't want that one, trust me. |

With any luck, you might find one (used) sitting at a dealer. Other option is ebay. Or LKQ wrecking yards, etc. (I realize time is of the essence, but...) |

Also, if the '05 doesn't work out, I will be putting mine up for sale shortly, and could be persuaded to sell it earlier for a fair price.

I made it back home ok but still on the look out for a spare to buy or a full set of wheels and tires with all seasons/snow tires at a reasonable price.
I bought a black on black 05 V with 16k miles on it from a dealer there in Dallas, just a couple minutes from the Love Field Airport. The car is immaculate, having only a scratch about 1 inch long that the dealer had airbrushed so you really have to look for it to find it. It was definately worth my time and the trip to Dallas.
These cars are unbelievably fun to drive, and thanks to all of you who have helped me decide what to look for when buying one.
By the way I made it to Topeka KS just in time for Dad to call from Omaha to say I should seek shelter and stay there over night. There were Tornados and severe storms from Topeka up thru Minnesota. They stalled out and didnt move all night long. My 9.5 hour trip turned into a near disasterous 17.5 hour trip. Thank god dad is a car guy too and knew I wouldn't have wanted the new car going thru hail. |

Glad you made it back without running into something worse, that stuff was nasty. |

I saw that silver one sitting at Sewell on lemon this afternoon so I figured you went with the first one you came to look at. |

When I saw the black one it was different and I loved it! These cars are awesome, I can't wait to get it paid off so I can start buying parts for it. This thing is much more fun to drive than the 65 chevelle was and I hope I don't have to fix something everytime I drive it. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
