If the navi does not have a touch screen how do you spell out your destination's name when entering it? My wife's TL has a touh screen that represents the keyboard and so does my truck. How did Caddy handle this? |

Has anyone figured out how to disconnect the parking brake safety yet? |

Our house that was built in 1981 isn't on the maps. On top of that, the MB dealership isn't even on the maps. And yes, the correct/updated nav disk is being used. It just plain sucks. |

One comment on the JD Power list: I'm surprised at the high ranking of the Lexus ES250/350 unit. It IS beautiful -- great graphics, a ton of points of interest, a lot of voice commands. But many addresses just plain missing. For example, a 2007 Lexus ES350 could not find Skamania Lodge, either as point of interest OR by address. Different addresses in Seattle would often come up with "no such address", even when the buildings were not new. The route guidance would sometimes act as if it were unaware of freeway exits, once calling for a big loop just to come back to a location that was right next to an exit (and not a new exit). It was so bad she actually had the Lexus dealer replace the unit. A 2002 Acura TL Type-S with navigation could find all the addresses that the Lexus could not. |

Some functionality on the V Nav won't work when driving which is a real pain.

How hard is touchscreen technology, They have had kiosk machines in shopping malls for over ten years now with touchscreen... The navi is so aggrivating at times I rarely use it. Not to mention all of the notifications, and does that "agree" button have to be hit every time or is there a way to just bypass that. |

It is cumbersome to use and after two months I still have to get into the manual because things that should be intuitive don't seem to work as they should. I was using it the other day and needed a detour when the road I was intending to take was flooded. The answer I got was no detour available. So I basically headed off in a different direction until the recalculation feature gave me a new route. Of course, I don't know if the direction I headed of in was the quickest way to get where I needed to go or not... and why can't the system recognize when a passenger is in the front seat and enable the controls? Not a user friendly feature on a long road trip. |

Even though it is difficult, my "V" navigation can find a Starbucks while in route, the Mercedes cannot even find a Starbucks while sitting. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
