The dealership covered it, but while I was waiting I decided to look into having a company create hi flow catalytic converters for my car.
They offerred to fabricate test pipes with high flow cats for about $275. I have used their test pipes before, and they fit well and looked nice. Would anybody be interested? www.trubendz.com
They can do discounts if a bunch of us agree to order.
I would also need somebody to mail me or them a spare set of stock Catalytic converters for them to fabricate the new pipes. You would get your stock cats back intact. They just need to use them to create some sort of template. You would get your cats back in 2-3 days. |

I had them on my car for over a year, and they were great quality. Price was a lot to swallow though at $700!

If not through you, I'll probably just buy the cats, and have a muffler shop make the pipes.
Don't have spare cats though.

This is more than a feeler. I just need somebody to provide the CATs. Once they have your CATs they can produce the part and start selling it for $275 a pair. The price would go down if we set up a group buy now or once they are fabricated.
They are willing to make this part even if only one of us wants in. I just can't be that person right now, because I don't have spare cats and cant be without my car. |

Hopefully somebody with a spare set of cats will turn up. The shop would only need to borrow them for a few days. |

The Random technology Cats are expensive, but they are Metal Matrix as opposed to Ceramic.

I just wanted something that flows better than stock and doesn't smell horrible like running no cats does.
What is the difference between metal matrix and ceramic cats? |

What is the difference between metal matrix and ceramic cats? | I was just gonna get the randon thech, universal cats, and have a mufler shop make the pipes on the spot. I would go your route, just cuz I like doing the work myself.
It just has to be quality parts. Don't wanna have to remove them in a few months.
Try to get the brand of cats he's using. That way, the guys who know about them can offer some advice.
Good work though.

I am pretty sure they would be using magnaflow high flow cats. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
