(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) I found this iPod to factory radio kit and wanted to know if anybody has installed it yet and has any experience with it to pass on. Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2
I was about ready to get the USA Spec iPod interface from Crutchfield for my "05 CTS-V but saw this other one and am trying to decide between them.
Any knowledge anyone can share on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) yes sir. i installed it once about 6 weeks ago, then again last friday night (had to rip it out because i got my XM receiver replaced).
works great, by the way... definately the best iPod hookup software around!
the first time i had it hooked up, i didn't have XM service, so i used XM1 and 2 just for the ipod. Now i have XM, and i use it in conjunction with the ipod... works great, and i have no problems.
If you're planning on getting it, shoot me an email, and i'll tell you what i did differently, that i'd suggest you do too (as far as how to install it, run the cables, etc.)
Seriously though - you can't go wrong with it. it's a great kit. i say go for it! |

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) Thanks for the quick response - it's nice to hear that somebody has had a good experience with the product instead of having to purchase it with no knowledge of how well it works. It's a little more money than the USA Spec from Crutchfield but sounded like a good product in the description of its capabilities. |

also, one thing i have to say, is i'm on first-name basis with the tech support over there (had some problems getting it to work with XM, but turned out to be an easy fix in the end), and they are great guys to deal with.
Richard (tech support) and Bob (reception?) are both courteous, and knowledgeable. if you'd prefer waiting in their (short) line, you can give me a call, and i can guide you through what you need to do. it's pretty straight-forward and self-explanatory, but i'd be more than willing to if you'd prefer. |

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) Thanks for the offer - also, thanks for being the guy that did buy one with no prior knowledge - I thought that was going to be me.
I just took a chance that if I posted here somebody else would have had one and could advise me one way or the other on it.
Glad to hear it's working out OK for you though. |

As typical for me, I have not installed it yet.
So what advice do you have on the install and XM settings?

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) Hey Mystical, were you the one who did your iPod kit install without splicing the wire to the XM receiver? I have to do the install again (Radios & More Kit) and, if possible, I wanted to do it without splicing any of the stock wires this time. |

Works pretty well when you control with the Ipod, I still havnt bothered to figure out what it uses the radio buttons for.
It doesnt work with my buddies brand new ipod though (well it does, you just cant select what songs to play).
Over all seemed to be an easy install / good kit though. |

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) I have also been researching Ipod interfaces for my 05 V and was leaning towards the USA Spec kit. One thing I am not sure of if it works with the Ipod Touch. Anyone?
Mystical, I am interested if this kit installs the same way the USA kit does, ie plugs into the XM radio plug under the rear deck lid or into the back of radio as the video on the Neo website indicates. Thanks in advance for any instruction/video you provide. |

right now it's set up like this (stock):
CAR (NAV unit)<------------>XM Receiver
the harness sits in-line like so:
CAR (NAV unit)<------------(NeoProlinkV2)----------->XM Receiver | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
