8) Decided to leave Neo box in small "compartment" that is right in the middle of the rear seats, next to the fuse box... kinda over the drivetrain tunnel... small empty space was perfect. Seat is VERY easy to remove, so future access to the Neo is cake.
Since I also have the 6 foot extension (really didn't need it)... I put a generous amount of electrical tape on the connection... I didn't want it to pull apart and have half of it fall back into my hole... You would need to take out the 4 bolts again to lift the console to get it back out... so, I shoved as much as I could into the "guts" of the console, and have the rest coiled in the compartment... plenty of line to reach me, or my passenger... a rear passenger would have plenty of line as well, just need to pull it out from the insides of the console...
13) Drilled a 5/8" hole in the back of the center console. (The INSIDE part, under the armrest and behind the rear seat power adapter)... you ONLY see the hole if you lift the armrest. The wires disappear into the bowels of the console.

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) So I have been enjoying my Neo ProLink iPod adapter for a few weeks now. And it works flawlessly. But a few days before I was going to install it my subwoofer blew up. I previously bought a Kicker open air sub and JBL amp from Shane. It worked well for a while but I think I got too happy with the bass. So it was time to order another sub.
I just got done installing a DLS Performance OA10D open air sub in my V. And WOW does it hit. It has a super sturdy frame and dual stacked magnets. I am very impressed with the sound. I also used Dynamat and covered most of the top and bottom of the rear tray. It worked well. I am very impressed with this setup now. Almost sounds like I have a box in the trunk now.
I am pretty pissed at the same time though. I was putting everything back together and as I was putting the drivers side side panel back into place, I broke the hole that you slide the screw through. I think I yelled every profanity in the book. But I used a larger screw and a washer, and it seems to hold the panel in place.
So I still highly recommend the Neo Prolink to anyone that wants a very good and reliable iPod adapter. I love mine!!!!! |

sounds like you found your way around it. mine are broken too, so i find the easiest way is to screw the screw in one or two turns, THEN install the sail panel, and manuever it so it fits over the washer. that was a lot easier than trying to fit that screw into the hole when there isn't enough room to point a flashlight in :/
And i like your install nxlr8, but i think i like mine better (see several pages back) |

I thought about doing exactly what you did, but I didn't want to run my wires that far... mine are 2 feet under carpet... and as far as the hole... well, I will drive this car until it dies, so I'm not too concerned...
Just yesterday, had a passenger in the back who wanted to go through my tunes on the iPod... he was leaning into the front seat to use it... I said, "No no no... there's PLENTY of wire" ... I reached down, and just pulled it out of the hole! He sat back and went to town... once done, I just shoved all the wire back in the hole and it's back to nice and clean... (Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) Now for the one and only question that matters (to me of course). Does this work with an iPhone 3g? I'm starting to realize my decision to buy one of those so I would have a new phone, AND a new iPod is becoming more of a PITA with compatibility thanks to Apple changing something about the connection, legacy iPod/Phone cables don't support the new 3g phone :\ |

New member and new cadillac cts-v for me ('06, but still new to me!). I did get the neo prolink adapter and want to do the install. Everyone has made mention of the FAQ for removing seats, sail panels, etc--the dumb newbie question is: How do I use the FAQ?
I've typed in several search strings and none seem to work. Thanks in advance! |

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) I have been experiencing a problem with my Neo ProLink. And its pretty random. Sometimes when I start up the car and plug in my iPod, the XM window will not come up at all. It only goes to two FM windows and an AM window. I have to pull the negative battery terminal and reset the car. Then the XM window comes up on the screen. Anyone else have this problem? |

In fact I think it even happens (on occasion) w/o any ipod adapter.
XM/Adapter eventually comes back w/o disconnecting the battery.

(Neo ProLink PODGMXMV2) My 98 Deville is the base model with no CD player, only am/fm/cassette. The iPod adapter manufacturers all say "Radio must have External CD Changer capabilities. There must be a CD Changer port on the back of the radio". Since I don't have a CD player at all, I guess there's no chance I have a CD changer port on the back of my radio??? If not, is there anything at all out there I can play my iPod through besides the FM transmitter crap?? I'm thinking about searching junk yards for an operable, compatible stereo for my 98 that definitely has the connection port on the back. I really hate having only conventional FM and a cassette on such a nice vehicle. Mine is in immaculate condition. |
