Extended Warranty

Anyone know if there is a way i can buy a used CTS-V and get the extended warranty offered by Cadillac to 100k? Or will i have to find a different warranty provider?

Is the extended worth it from you CTS V owners?

If i need to find another way to get it, who do you recommend?

THX,
Jason

Re: Extended Warranty

Has to be at an actual Cadillac dealership and be certified through them. After that I've heard cost is $1000 for 5yr 100k mile.

If you buy outside a Caddy dealer you're on your own with an aftermarket company and they are $$$$.

Re: Extended Warranty

as far as i know, as long as the car is still under warranty, you can extend the warranty, but it has to still be under the existing warranty

Re: Extended Warranty

Many dealers will actually negotiate the price of the warranty. It may be worth shopping with some local dealers.

Re: Extended Warranty

I negotiated the best possible price to extend the warranty on my 2004: $0.00 to extend the powertrain warranty, including engine, to a total of 5 years/100,000 miles which is equivalent to the new GM car warranties. All I had to do was complain to GM that almost every component in my powertrain has been replaced at least once and they owe me a warranty extension. If you are persistant and can get your dealer to side with you it will work.

I paid an even $1000 for a GMPP to extend my warranty 3 years and 24,000 miles on my 2004 ($50 deductable). It will be interesting to see if I get my money's worth out of it.

Re: Extended Warranty

I purchased an extended warranty from Warranty America for $1,600 that seemingly covers evrything with a $100 deductible up to 100K miles. So far they've taken care of business (about $1,700 in bushings and motor mounts several months ago), but they always send an "inspector" to look over the dealer recommendations before approving the repairs adding 1-2 days to the work. Seems at a certain $$$ amount an inspector is mandatory. Yesterday the warranty, according to the Caddy dealer, approved two new front shocks and two new wheel bearing/hubs. Parts alone are around $1,100.

Re: Extended Warranty

Thats good to hear they are doing that work with no hassle. I'm planning on making a check list for the problems with my new car I just bought. I'm still trying to figure out what all they cover under the warranty.

Sleepy drop me a line at (314) 249-3770 and I'll give you the name of the place I purchased mine from. I can also fax you the list of what mine covers. It's better then the one I looked at from GM and several other sources.
