Our cars just cannot cut 60 foots necessary to run low 11's. IMO. | I have ran with a newer Gallardo and a 997TT from a roll of 60mph up to triple digits-not necessary to make a full disclosure and show my stupidity for those moments. At worst, I was maybe a half-car slower. The weight, I figure mine is close to 4,200lbs with me, fuel and the Maggie, is restrictive.
The V is not a 1/4 miler, unless you have invested heavily in the rear-end, but it will definitely surprise some ignorant drivers who are clueless about the V legacy-well we don't have a legacy yet, but it sure sounded good! |

I would imagine that I could run in the mid to high 11's right now if I could keep the tires from spinning 1st through 3rd without decelerating to make them stop Unfortunately, the cure for the wheels spinning will without question grenade the rear end before I get to third. Therefore, I could not realistically get to the mid to high 11's until I drop another 10 grand on a rear, and a couple more grand in traction control devices (no idea what they would be) The good news is that after the tires quit spinning when I stomp the peddle at 30-40 MPH, there are few cars on the road that can keep up

Moving on... | most people posting in V dont call their cars a CTS. I thought that was pretty obvious.

But, as much as I loved my Evo, I like driving the V more. Maybe I'm getting older but the V has a much nicer interior and overall feel. It is nowhere near as frenzied as the Evo. It does not have the same awesome grip and sheer cornering power but it is a good handling car. The smooth linear powerband is excellent but you will not have that shot out of a cannon feel as you have in the Evo when it hits 22 psi. That is what I really miss about the Evo
I think your main question is whether or not the V can run with the big dogs from a roll. I think with the mods you listed from a roll the V can run with a high 11 sec Evo especially as the speeds increase. Third and fourth gear in the V is very strong and there is no doubt it will be able to pull hard enough to keep up with a stock turbo Evo and probably outrun the 2003 VIII's if they don't have cams.
The V is a great car and an overall great driving experience. I have not regretted buying it and I am hoping to add to the experience real soon with the addition of a supercharger. | Im currently running a Buschur 3065 Turbo setup, 25psi 93oct. Its putting down 432whp on a stock intercooler & stock upper intercooler pipe. Its a hell of a car, trust me. I just removed the TEIN coilovers a couple nights ago, and the car is now a total sleeper, it looks bone stock.
Paired with the 3065 turbo, is HKS 280/272 cams, Precision 780cc Injectors, Walbro 255, Buschur Intake, 3" full exhaust, no cat, Tial 44mm Wastegate, open dump, Exedy Twin Disk Clutch.
Its a beast. But im just tired of it. Looking to buy a more quality of a car (even though im not fond of GM products), the CTS- V I fell in love with. The interior styling is amazing, and all the little features that come along with it, are great for me. |

I think it's some sort of maturity in my part driving a V8...I'm the MAN now |

Racing modded evos and stis from a roll isn't a big deal even with a stock V. I had WRX before STis were here with all the mods you could do at the time (turbo, IC, injectors, etc.). Totally different cars. Want a drag car, buy a fox body or a camaro. |

As long as you don;t mind giving up going from a dig, this car won't disapoint. It's very cheap and easy to mod the engine reliably. Some of the V specific bits can be pricey though, as economies of scale aren't there (i.e. rims are expensive (minimum of $250 each, for scratched oem takeoffs), $400 short shifter, $1500 headers, etc.) From 65 mph to 135 is a very sweet spot for the V.With about 380 rwhp, I raced my buddies SRT-10 Viper, from 65-135, and lost by 1.5 cars. Lost to a SL55 same speed by .5 cars. If you get that FI itch again, you can bolt on a supercharger for not a lot of coin.
Evo's and STI's are cool, but once you hit 30 (or younger) it's time to move into something a bit more wolf in sheeps clothing.
Sleeper factor in this car is 10+, especially if you de-badge. The WTF was that looks you get are PRICELESS, especially from the BMW owners, and Rice-A-Roni's.
