I now have developed a clunk, think I'm getting movement in the mount. Have several things in this thing that needs beefed up & changed to handle the torque, So yesterday I decided to change over to the Madman 9". Called him & gave him a deposit to get his kit installed. He said it would take 3 to 4 weeks to put it together then 2 weeks for the install. I wouldn't mind running it for the sessions at summit point, But the trip there & back is a problem with the vibration I have now. Am considering trailering it there & back , have to see how that will work. We're looking at the problem now to see if it's something we can fix enough to be reliable enough to make the trip to summit point.
Really hope I can make it, was lookin forward to the trip and meeting all the other V owners

A mod hell casualty.
Makes one wonder how many others there'll be just getting to Summit Point, how many the track will claim, and how many will limp home only to not quite make it.

Positive? Hell, I can't sleep ... I'm so f'...g geeked. Been bugging Feffman about little details (I think I'm done Mark). Yesterday, I got a video cam mount, helmet, shoes, CG-lock, more to come. Looked at my KARS install instructions this morning and don't know whether or not to attempt the install before going. (I'm NOT the greatest wrench in the world by ANY stretch.)
I feel bad for rlj5, but it reminded me of me, that's all. I may be geeked, but I'm a realist ... okay, maybe a little bit negative. I've visited mod hell from my driveway only(!) ... my DD was always sitting nearby. Just don't want to see MH 500 miles away from my own cozy little world. Besides, the wife has no idea that I've even been to MH!
Excuse me ... gotta go get some more kitty litter for the driveway. |

Heck, the track fee is the least of the expenditures to be sure!
The best part is that you won't have to get most of this stuff the next time. |

Originally Posted by rangerrob any update on the rear issues you're having rlj5? hope you were able to resolve it and will be able to make it with us to Summit! | Held out till the last minute before I canceled hoping to get the V beast drivable for summit point. But it wasn't to be, Took the V back to EPP to take car of a couple issues and see if we could do anything about the vibration in the drive line. But we haven't been able to resolve the vibration issue and Bob thinks it would be a mistake to drive it even if I trailered it to summit point.
So i'm waiting for Madman to get the parts fabbed & I should be trailering it to him in a couple weeks for him to work his magic on the V and get rid of this god awful drive line vibration.
This 8.8 Cobra dif and related custom parts have been a royal PITA since I had in done in Baltimore. Seems that was my one big mistake in chosing that guy to do my custom dif work. But in all fairness neither Madman or Kars had there kits available at the time, So there wasn't a lot of choice on who did it. Just was about a couple months to early getting it done.
Sorry Guys, Really disappointed I'm not going to be there at summit point,
Was really looking forward to the track time and meeting all you V guys, But maybe they'll be another get together of some kind soon that I can make, But I hope everyone has a great time

Slight misalignment of driveshaft into diff or ... ? You got too much hp to be messin' 'round with anything that's not completely up to snuff.
Let's just hope this V track meeting is a rousing success so there'll be a Summit Point II next year. We'll see ya at that one if not before. |

I won't be able to make the event either. Not do to car trouble. I got a new job and I can't get the time off for the event. I've been so busy with work that I haven't had a chance to post up anything. I know the event will be great. Take lots of pictures and video. I'll be sure to make it next year. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
