Hey guys , I am considering either an 06-07 cts-v or an 07-08 srt8 jeep.
With your experience of ownership, what are your feels on the quality of the v as a daily driver? Thanks for your input.

Re: Considering a V

I love the V, it is my DD. everyone turns their head and notices a caddy with a nice rumble and says "that doesn't sound like a caddy"... however, a buddy of mine has an srt8 cherokee and that thing is quick! don't really care for interior on it though... it all depends on if you want a gas guzzling SUV or a gas guzzling luxury sedan... i'm partial to the sedan

Re: Considering a V

I have to agree with rangerrob, I recently test drove an 08 Jeep SRT8 and while the power and acceleration is thrilling, the Jeep's "quality" or lack thereof, the very high price point, and terrible gas mileage actually led me to a 07 TBSS with very low miles. For the jump in price that you will have to pay for a new or newer Jeep SRT8, you could get a used CTS-V (I daily drove mine for 1.5 years and loved every second of it, but now have tried to start keeping the miles off of it) and a used late model Chevy 4x4 and have all your bases covered.

P.S. Rangerrob - Thanks for the friend request on FQuick. Keep posting on this site, it is the best forum I have ever been on.

Re: Considering a V

I never looked at the Jeep but drove M5 and S4s. Drove one V and that was it game over. I had to have one.

Re: Considering a V

I recently purchased the 06 V for my daily driver. I considered the SRT Jeep as well until i drove the V. Way more fun, plus I prefered a Manual. Sold my 03 Cobra for it and couldn't be happier.

Re: Considering a V

The GC SRT8 is a pretty gnarly vehicle. Driving the V is pure bliss.

One option to consider, for (close to) the price of a new GC SRT8, you could shell out a little more and buy a used V and a TrailBlazer SS. Now you have your V, and (albeit not quite as fast as a GC SRT8) a hot rod SUV.

Good luck in your decision!

Re: Considering a V

Go drive one.

Then try to convince yourself you don't want it.

Re: Considering a V
