The new unit was a 355 gear compared to the stock 373.
Had to make a trip up to EPP for some follow up stuff yesteday. Set my cruise on 78 mph and got an astounding 23 mpg on the trip, And I think that is amazing for a streetable car to have 800 + rwhp and still get 23 mpg.
Now my overall average isn't that good , been running from 11.5 to 14.5, haven't drove it enough yet to get a for sure averaged. Been checking miles driven to fuel used at the pump. My dic is way outa wack now ,fuel used is only about 1/2 of what is actually used and the mpg average says about 35 mpg. As far as I know there isn't any way to adjust this. I assume the main reason is it has no maf sensor it is speed density tuned. Anyone know it this can be adjusted in any way ?

I take it your going to have EPP strengthen the bracing on the rear? I changed pulleys and went to 7.5 psi from 5.5 psi, added a 2 step, ProComp tach and made a pod like yours for the AFR and boost gauge. Need a tune now with meth and the additional boost. |

yeah, gonna do some reinforcing to hopefully lasts for awhile. Looks like I will probably end up with a Madman rear on this thing,
Sounds like your about to get your beast completed if there is such a thing a completed.
Good luck Gene |

In your set up with 800+rwhp I could see that a 9" will be needed but with a 450-500rwhp set up the cobra might be a cheaper alternative? maybe? please any pics would be sweet if you have the time.
Thanks

Nolan | The Cobra setup wasn't any less expensive to do than the Madmans fix is now (he got less expensive than it was to start) or the Kars fix which is no longer available. The only reason I did the cobra was the others were not yet available & in the end it costs considerably more than the Madmans fix. Will give you some pics if you want, but there is a lot of custom fab work involved for the install of the cobra center section & then of course custom drive shaft & axles. with all that has to be replaced to change out the diff I just can't see how anyone is going to do it for much less than madmans fix.
For all the V owners out there that are looking for a fix for a couple thousand dollars, I just don't see that ever happening, there is just to many things that have to be addressed other than just the center section being replaced.
but like I say if you want some pics let me know & when I get it back from epp next week I'll take some
Note that on the cobra there is a vibration that has never been resolved.
