........that's with a $50 deductable for bumper-to-bumper.

My 2004 V has 7900 miles on it, so it's unlikely I'll use the full 26,000 extension; probably the 36 month extension will lapse first.

The bet here is that I will have at least $1000 of repairs over the next 3 years.

Given that the V has a lot of whistles and bells that are expensive to fix, what's the smart bet here???

7900 miles, how much did u pay for the car? i picked my 04 up with 15,300 about a year ago... tried finding one with lower miles, but couldn't pass up the deal... y do you not want to get the car certified for the 100k 6 yr from the dealer for an extra $500?

can't certify the car if you already own it.

Actually when I bought it last May from my 84 year old Dad it had 2400 miles on it. I talked him into ordering a 'vette with auto (he didn't like shifting; see delivery photo below). I paid him $31k for it. A little high for a '04 back then, but it really was (and still is like new). Except for those fricken tires; they look like they have 40,000 miles on 'em

So with my 4 man carpool to work, it looks like I'll be putting about 7kmi a year on it. What I'm trying to figure out here is if there any common big ticket repair items in the first 30kmi.

The fact your Dad is 84 and driving the latest generation Corvette is AWESOME!! I hope I am in good enough health to be able to do this. Also, nice "upgrade sales" chat with Dad to help him out of his shifting situation!

Re: Is a 3yr 26kmi GMPP warranty for $1000 a wise purchase?????

My '04 has 12k miles and the warranty will expire in Aug., so I need to start researching extended options as well. I've never bought an extended warranty, so if anyone has any insight, by all means, throw it out there. Thx.

Are you able to certify a V if you are buying it from a private party? Been wondering this. Thanks!

not unless it's under factory warranty and you're a cadillac dealer!
