Also in regards to my NB to WB change i found a plug and play adaptor to simplify the installation of my WB. Pn 109049

Re: fitment question

Come on guys, my car is going to be in the shop for at least a week...

No one has the time to give it a quick look? or are we too interested in off topic issues?

Re: fitment question

Not sure what your goal is but I would not suggest tuning a car by the MAF as some tuners do on a dyno for a couple hundred bucks. If your engine is stock then that is fine as your VE table has not changed. Even intake and cat-back mods can slip by on the stock tables. For anything more the VE table, MAF disabled, has to be adjusted for the new found airflow/modifications. Having a tuned VE table will provide the correct basis for fuel and in the event the MAF become disabled the MAP can be used to run the car.

If you tune the MAF with the VE is still looking at stock fueling tables in the event MAF fails, fuel will not be there or not enough and you could damage your engine.

If your just moving the IAT out of the MAF to a less warmer place outside the engine bay you should also change the scaling of the IAT/ECT(air and coolant) to be more accurate.

Re: fitment question

I completely agree with everything you just stated, but EFI asks that you disable the MAF and install a IAT sensor for autotuning. By removin the MAF you are isolatin the MAP to give you the actual VE at that vacuum. The less variables you have the more pure the tune will be...

Plus i will do a dyna tune for the upper range, but the lower range is were most of the damge is done...Due to the heat here runnin lean will cost you the engine...

All the tuners here skip that part and only tune 3500+ at WOT... So i need to tweak the main VE so if i am runnin normal or hard the VE is correct. Thus the reason for the first adaptor. The second one is for me installin my WB...I know it will work, but the MAF sensor i dont know...

Re: fitment question

HPTuners allow you to zero out the MAF for VE/speed density tuning. Also shut off the DFCO by raising the minimum coolant level during VE tuning.

Your on the right track!

PE is 4000 RPMs and up, your right!

Re: fitment question

Like he said just zero out the Maf HZ and the car will go into SD mode.

If you still really want to relocate the IAt go here.

You can get the sensor and pig tail from the dealer to plug into it from say a 1998 vette.
