There is also a weird clicking noise coming from the fuse box when i try to lock/unlock the car with the remote. Tried to jump it and still nothing?? think theres a bad relay/ computer idk what does everyone think?? Thanks

Original battery? Sounds like it is dead.

Re: Help V Wont Start

Mine goes back tomorrow for similar issue. They replaced the dome light/dash dimmer switch Wed and thought that would do it.

Mine does only not start after sitting 16+ hours or so and it will start on a jump immediately.

Re: Help V Wont Start

Hey guys, my car is doing the exact same thing.

Hooked up a battery charger and nothing. Hooked up jumper cables and nothing. Hooked up both at the same time and it started.

Battery is charged, dome light is bright. As soon as I put the key in the ignition and start to turn the power goes out and get some weird clicking sounds from the fuse box and throttle body.

When I pull the key out and wait 10 seconds there is a few more clicks and all the lights in the car come back on again.

Did anyone figure this out or did the dealer tell you what the problem was?
I just turned 51,000 miles; so Im guessing that I am screwed on warranty.

Curt

you have some warranty left, if it ended at 50k you have some leeway

Re: Help V Wont Start

Check for bad battery ground. The low amp draw of the lights doesn't take a good ground. As soon as you try to draw heavy amps, the poor ground acts as a resistance and everything goes out. Could also be a battery with a bad cell although usually you wouldn't get lights to come on.

Re: Help V Wont Start

With chargers/jumpers on these cars I doubt this is a battery issue.
Check the clutch switches, I have seen a few failures. If the spring breaks inside the switch they will do all sorts of funky things, one of them being not starting.

Apart from that if you don't know where to go, find a shop to fix it.

Re: Help V Wont Start

I thought I was being a smart ass when I thought to myself "did you push the clutch in?" haha. I just got a new Jeep and didnt drive it for a week. After I installed the K&N and new PCM, I went to start it and forgot to push in the clutch... I felt like I was 14 and it was my first time driving a standard vehicle again.

Re: Help V Wont Start

I decided to replace the battery before paying for a tow. Wasnt easy to find one, but a chevy dealer tracked one down.
Anyway, with a new battery it seems to be working fine. Check engine light is on, but I should be able to reset that.

Re: Help V Wont Start

reset the check engine light by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes?
if so, then it would have gone away while you had disconnected the old battery to install the new one you bought from the chevy dealer.
