Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

Remove this ad
I just bought a 2004 black V that is low miles and in good shape cosmetically. I have a long highway drive to work and want to keep the dings off of the front of it when I do drive it to work.

Anybody do a clear bra and how much did you pay?

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

Roughly about the same on the CTS-V and STS-V. 700.00 installed for full front facia, hood (12" on the CTS-V and 24" on the STS-V) w/ fenders and the mirrors.

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

3M bumper, mirrors, 1/3 hood and fenders

Mine was free since the company representing the product wanted to demo a couple of them

Other people try VentureShield b/c it is cheaper and easier to install.

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

I've had mine on my '04 since almost new. I have almost 50,000 good looking, no chip miles. I personally know the owner of Venture Tape who makes the Venture Shield. I had mine done at the plant for $450. I actually paid the same for my '07 Town Car done at Tint King near my home for the same price.
I don't have fist hand knowledge of the comparison of VS and 3M as they wear. But, I can tell you you'll be very happy with the Venture Shield, no doubt.

Nope, didn't, should've, will do next time.
Well worth the investment, as my front-end has enough chips to justify a paint job.

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

I just got quoted $445 for just the front bumper. Another $365 if I want to do the hood, fenders, and side mirrors. Sounds expensive compared to what some others have paid.

I will check into the Venture Shield.

I think I got a bit ripped off.

They did my hood, entire front fascia/bumper, headlights, rearview mirrors, all four wheel arches, and top of rear bumper: $850.

BTW, being a DIY-kind-of-guy, I checked into doing it myself and said, "". Could have saved several hundred clams, but I'd have screwed it up for sure.

True, but if you buy now, you'll still be getting Venture Shield without the big price tag...

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

One of the reasons VentureShield is cheaper because they own their own templetes. Now that 3M owns templetes I think you will see a price reduction, but thats just my guess.

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

Is there more than one template?

I'm not too impressed with the cut of my kit.
(Don't know what kit/template it is though)
I'd like to find a better kit or have something custom cut.

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

There are multiple ways to cut a hood, but explain what you don't like about your cut.
