Well, I got the local installer down to $400 to do the bumper kit and side mirrors, or $650 to do the bumper kit, side mirrors, front fenders and hood.

I guess I will just do the bumper kit and side mirrors to save some dough. These prices just seem high. I just bought the car, so I am having trouble not opening my wallet already (bought V logo floor mats and a V logo metal gas cap) and have only had the car 1 week so far. I think I will need new tires soon as well. Argh....

Re: Anybody do a clear bra on their V?

i paid $250 for 3M covering the entire front bumper by a local shop, but then again they gave me a discount since they left a hand print in the paint on my front fender the first time they had to paint it... said it'd be and extra 200 for the hood and mirrors, going to wait on that as my hood has chips in it and figure i'll rough it up some more this year before having it repainted and then but the bra on it...

IMO the changes in angle should occour right on the crease line.

Also I don't like how the fender only gets 50% vertical coverage (on the bottom).
I had the installer add a 2nd "custom cut" piece to get 100% vertical coverage (up to the hood).
IMO fender should have 100% vertical coverage not 50%.
Having to add the 2nd upper piece creates an unecessary seam.
My installer was so lame, he did not even match this ( custom cut) piece up with the hood coverage.

I also hate how the mirrors only get 75% coverage.
They lack coverage for the last 2" of the top and outer edges.
IMO the mirrors should get full coverage (the contour is simple)

I also don't like the big gap in coverage around the foglights.
This part I might understand as bieng too difficult, due to the complex bends.
IMO they could have done a little better.

The installer just defered to the pattern designer, as if some real thought & research was put into it.
IMO a drunken monkey designed that pattern.
(at least the hood, fenders & mirror anyway).
