Engine Fan Still Going after turning off?

I'm not expert mechanic. But to me, this seems weird. I turned the car off and for about two minutes afterwards the fan was still going with the keys out of the ignition. Is this a possible problem?

Re: Engine Fan Still Going after turning off?

Mine is set to stay on for one minute compliments of StealthV.

Do you have an aftermarket tune?

Re: Engine Fan Still Going after turning off?

No, it has 5k miles on it. It's an 07. It has no engine modifications. The only aftermarket-like thing it came with was factory-installed corsa exhaust. It was hot out today, I don't know if that was the reason.

Re: Engine Fan Still Going after turning off?

Check somewhere around pg 533 of your owner's manual.
Many newer vehicles have electric fans that are set to continue running after the engine has been switched off.

Re: Engine Fan Still Going after turning off?

The default on my 05 is 230F for 120 seconds. This a programmable via hptuners or efilive. It is possible to turn off the car with those temps but this time of the year might mean something unless your just coming off the race track.
