    Clutch question. will hold 550rwhp?

    HI guys,

right now my car is at Lindsay because it might have rear main seal problem. If it does, I am thinking about doing different clutch setup.

first is uuc flywheel and factory V clutch and pressure plate. Second is going with all z06 stuff with spacer. I know they are both lighter than factory V dual mass. So will these setup hold 550rwhp? If not what other options do I have? I need to get it done asap.

550 rwhp on the sotck clutch, No. Wish I had more for you but Lunarx is working with a sweet setup if he can get the bugs worked out.

I hope someone posts to this with something constructive, not sure how to proceed myself.

I have 500 rwhp and the ZO6 clutch very smooth easy to drive no shudder. Tried spec stage 3plus maybe a little stronger but harder to drive without the shudder.

Good to know about the Z06 clutch though, how heavy is it do you remember?

The stock V clutch should be good for about 480whp, thats it.

As much as 480 WHP? Sweet, I'm good until the engine gets upgraded.

I'm guessing at 480 the clutch won't last too long though.

Re: Clutch question. will hold 550rwhp?

Just do the UUC FW w/ Stock V clutch.
I never heard of a single regret on that option.

The LS7 clutch isn't good for much over 425 WHP.
LS7 and V clutch are not much different.
Why do unnecessary mods when a factory fit solution like the UUC exists?

Later when you get to 550WHP, you will want a Twin Disk and will wrestle with the drivability vs. power holding vs. cost equations.

Re: Clutch question. will hold 550rwhp?

Usually it is not so much hp that causes clutches to slip, but torque. So if someone is advertising how many hp a clutch will hold I'd ask how much torque will it hold. If they can't answer look elsewhere.

Twin turbos are a problem as can create a large amount of torque quickly.
