Has anyone on this forum had any success in getting GM to replace one of the leather seat covers? My V has less then 14k on it and the cracking on the driver's seat is HORRIBLE. I was wondering if this is something that you guys think I should bring up when I bring it in to the dealer for service tomorrow?

There's an informational bulletin that applies to all GM makes and models about warrantying seat covers. Basically, it instructs the shop to determine whether the damage is a result of neglect/misuse/abuse or if it's defective.
If the seam is split, the surface is peeling or it's rubbing through then it'll be warrantied. If there's cuts, rips or stains it won't be.
I've noticed quite a bit of "creasing" in my leather seats, which could be mistaken for cracks at first glance. If it's the area on the outboard edge of the seat wrinkling like in mine, it will probably considered normal wear.

If you get any flack, offer to pay the parts if they do the labor.
Otherwise, buy the covers from Luke and visit your local upholstry man.

Well the Service Manager was out to lunch when I was there and he has to approve all interior repairs so I dont know about the seat covers yet, but they are replacing the diff, motor mounts, and nav for free! I am pretty sure I will have no problem getting the seat covers replaced too! |

This time was actually really easy...I went in there because the nav radio they ordered was in...and I asked them to check the rough idle and the whining rear end while it was in...the tech drove the car for about 1 minute and came back and said well order you a new differential and replace your motor mounts! |

Hey guys i am new but wanted to let you know about my experience with my 2005 CTS-V it has 36k and i noticed a little whine coming from the rear end. I took it in to my Cadilliac Dealer in Vegas and asked them to check it. When my advisor called he said they have ordered me a new diff and would call me when they recieved it. Seem pretty easy! | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
