There's gotta be a mistake in the stock engine tuning, because even back in the late 80s some cars were smart enough to turn off the injectors when you were decelerating in gear. Instantaneous milage SHOULD go to infinity when decelerating in gear, at least until you get closer to idle (maybe switch over at 1500rpm?). Instead mine seems to jump from around from 70mpg above 2700rpm or so down to the teens below that. When it drops down, it's accompanied by alot of backfiring in the exhaust too. I know my '99 C5 acted the way I would expect - deceleration with a closed throttle in gear always showed 99mpg (the limit for those cars) on the DIC. That car got much better milage on the highway too - you got >30mpg up to about 70mph, but that's probably due to it being much more slippery than our cars...
Still - I'm sure StealthV could tune out that backfiring and make the deceleration-in-gear tuning a little more intelligent...
