I like the stock ride but would like to lower it. Badly. Any way if I want to keep the stock ride quality are the stock springs reused????
Also since i do not have the tools to do this myself if I print the Instructions from reed's faq can My local gm dealer garage figure it out?
is this all i "need" to buy to lower my car? http://www.ground-control-store.com/...s/viewCart.php
I just want this look for my black V

Byut, that was immediately following the install. I think Randy raised it a bit since then. It may not have been all that streetable at that level. I would check with him first.
I don't think the 500/550 springs in the GC kit along with the FE4s would be all that much harsher, if at all. In fact, I think Randy initially started out with the 500/550s and switched to the 600/650 (though, he may have had the FG2s in the beginning - not sure). So yeah, check wit him. |

| | Cadillac Owners Connoisseur | | | | | Re: Does anyone have Gc with fe4's??? can we start a GC faq thread?? They come with the springs. You just pick the spring rate that you wanna go with.
Actually, I would think the ride would suffer more from slamming it, due to the loss in travel, rather than the stiffer springs. I would just go with the 600/650s then, to help keep it from bottoming out. You may also wanna look into the K-Sport adjustables if you're really going for the slammed look. They let you retain full shock travel regardless of ride height. Vettethreat had a set he was looking to sell in the classifieds.
On the other hand, I know there was someone who really had it slammed with the GC kit and felt that it rode better than stock, so... |

So yeah, check wit him. | Yup, that was just a wee bit too low. Think I only went up maybe at most a half inch from there. You really gotta watch the road ahead for dips, debris, snowturds, half-gallon whiskey bottles, and the like.
Had the FE4s on for over a year with the GC. Traded with a member here my 550/500 springs for his 650/600's about a month or so into having the GC and recently installed the FG2s.
You will not deteriorate the ride very significantly going with the 550/500, FE4, and stock swaybar setup, and you'll get the advantage of going lower.
Oh, and just wanna point out that the amount of adjustment on the rears is limited as I recall. I'm close to the end of the threads with the adjustable collar in the backs.

People bitch about the squeek in the front, dont waste the $33 for the sealed bearings because they didnt work, if you want to get anything do unsealed ones if you want...
in the rear, do the feffman fix ( i did 2 spacers on each side [thanks big jim])
as for the install, noone should be scared to do this themselves, however it is much easier with 2 people! did it all on jackstands |
