What other link/kit is there & where's the thread? |

The crashee says he accepts that, and so do I. Beyond that, I can tell you mine (gmpp x-drilled with Hawk pads from Lindsay) got a bit mushy at the end of the first session with brand new fluid (as in 2 days old) but bounced back after I let off for a minute or two. And, I talked to several other guys who said theirs got mushy at times too. A couple said scary mushy. It ain't worth the risk.
Oh, and John Behe looked at mine at Summit and said it would be a good idea b/c they're so heavy to get some ducting on there if I'm going to track it with any regularity (Behe did the blue fluid just before track day & the alignment and dynotune) |

Any word on if these kits are ever going to make it to production?

I've got some C5 Z06 vette spindle plates that I've modded to fit my V. I have 3.5 inch hoses run from the stock brake inlets to the spindle plates. I've attached a pic of the current setup that I've run. The problem is at full lock the wheels rub the hose.
Do these molded plastic bits stop that? If so I'd be in for a set of those. Also what size hose are you running in this kit?
As far as real life experience for rotor temps I really only have the passenger side installed right now for comparison reasons . After some brief aggressive driving I measured the rotor temps and have a difference of 80-100 degrees at the rotor surface.
With a vehicle as heavy as the V there is NO doubt in my mind that not only would this be a HUGE improvement at the track in terms of stopped distance over the long haul but also less wear on brake components due to heat removed from the entire braking system.
I know that's just one guy's opinion... but it's right, so just accept it.
P.S. - Luke... do I get a discount for trying my best to sell this kit? |

Are those pics actually off a V? Just asking because of the 5 stud hub.
Additionally will this kit require permanent removal of the wheel liner? Not that I have a problem with that... heck I've already cut 2 x 3.5 inch holes in mine and dremeled away other bits of plastic here and there.
I'm looking forward to those install pics.
Now the editorial...
EVERYONE NEEDS TO SIGN UP FOR THIS!!
Due to major stupidity on my part I wasn't at V-Day 3. I WILL be there for V-Day 4... but if you've EVER tracked your car you'll understand that power is useless if you can't stop or steer. And driving a 2-ton car ain't a picnic regardless of how good the stock brakes are. Any brake system help should be accepted.
P.S. - Luke... I'm getting to the point of angling for free plastic molded doohickeys... I am your forum advocate on this one. |

Oh well... while I'd love to have some molded plastic bits comparable to the DRM pieces available for the vette I still feel that this is a worthwhile pursuit.
Even without the molded pieces the 3.5 inch hose CAN be run with no rubbing ON THE TRACK. It requires mindful driving on the street if you are going to leave them on to not lock the wheel (parking spaces and U-turns) or just some extra pre-track work to run the hoses.
Worth it imo. |

MrAceman, Norm has some info on his car that he did brake ducts on. He went all out and removed the fogs, but I think looking at what has in the wheel well might help you. |
