You may need to wait a little for an answer. Me thinks Rick will be spending a lot of time with his insurance company in the next few days...

Re: Question stealth v tune

according to the info i got from Rick a few months ago; to do that (i wanted to do the same thing... have a seperate, "tuned" PCM, so i could keep the stock unit for warranty purposes or misc. dealership visits), he'd need your VIN, so he can program it into the new one.

Rick will surely post here to confirm though

Re: Question stealth v tune

here's the response i got from Rick when i asked about using a 2nd PCM:

Quote:
The best way is to use your original PCM. A second PCM needs to have the dealer perform a crankshaft position relearn. So depending on your dealer that is either no problem or will raise questions.

Re: Question stealth v tune

Yep. Crank relearn is recommended for PCM #2 and the VIN should be programmed to match the car. Click on the website link below in the signature and send me an email; we'll get you all fixed up.

You guys must have crystal balls for the insurance calls today.

Time to check out the Mercedes Benz USA website...

I hate to advertise after such a tragedy, but the MB comment forced my hand.

Re: Question stealth v tune

Rick are you still going to be tuning the V's for the next few months? I am 100 miles from my V right now, but when I get it back down here I would love to get it tuned!

Interesting - What will it cost me to own the STS-V nine months and trade it towards a '09 CTS-V?
