The car: #05-006 Mallett Cts-V, black raven, 10k miles, excellant condition. Has the base Mallett package along with: longtube headers, bigger spec cam, 19" forged wheels, and spoiler. The Mallett options came to a little over 23k. The car made 430rwhp, so approximately 500hp at the crank.
I think a 10k mile 2005 V can still get 30-32k in private sale. So it comes down to what the Mallett package is worth in todays market.
What is your guys opinion? I realize it will take a buyer that planned on modding their V. |

Having said that.......IMHO......there are some very nice cars under 30K......I've seen a few @ around 28K (asking price). As everyone on this thread knows, whatever aftermarket "stuff" is installed on a car, you "may" only get back 10 cents on the dollar spent. (I have over 14K on my car and it makes it "only" slightly more desirable than a stocker.) I'll go out on a limb here and say, (unless you find a buyer who MUST HAVE all your mods) you will be lucky to get 35K....tops. Probably closer to that 30-32K you mentioned in your thread. Hope this helps. |

What flyboy said. (still not very helpful)
$5,000 less than what you'd hoped. (not helping again)
If you try market this car on an enthusiasts website, you'll most likely find the "right" buyer. The average joe, or worse yet, car lot, will label it just another CTS-V. And we all know it's so much more than that. I'd try listing it on Corvette Forums, LS1TECH, LS2GTO, here, etc. Right audience to be sure. |

I realize what you're saying about getting the money out of mods. I've modified all my cars for many years and often put them back to stock to get the money back. But.............I would hope to do better since it was done by a reputable shop such as Mallett. I wouldn't expect much more if I had done the H/C package in my garage. But it is a rare car that has the subtle features that set it off from another V with mods.
I'm really glad I didn't purchase the car new considering it was almost 80k less than three years ago. |

The problem I'm having is that there aren't many others to compare pricing. NADA is ridiculous, they had it valued at over 60k a few months ago. Mallett missed the quarterly deadline for nada this quarter so its not in there until March.
There is one other Mallett on autotrader right now. An 07 with 5k miles and they are asking 65k, which again to pretty ridiculous. I know Ernie picked up his last summer for just under 50k, but it has the 427 options. |

The "right" buyer is out there. It DOES sound like a very nice car. |

I'm in no hurry, I would have a hard time taking pictures of it right now. Its jammed in the garage for winter storage. I'm thinking about listing it at $39,900 and be slightly negotiable. |

If you can't get that, then sell me your Mallett Wheels to pad the deal for you.
Any buyer who doesn't pay your asking price doesn't deserve those wheels.
You would want them to go to another Mallett owner right?
Plus, I have stock wheels to trade as part of the deal.
BTW - I paid just over 50K for my Mallett.
Everyone says I stole it for that.
Nevertheless, I have since added another 15K in additional upgrades.
If I ever sell it, I think I'm keeping the C5R engine.
Imagine my C5R in a new V with the Z06 Supercharger.

700WHP/WHT WooHoo!!! | Ernie - your Mallett is just a little different. Start with the 427 and go from there. I thought Joe said that he had about $45K invested w/ Mallet. That didn't include the extra clearcoat paint that you have.
Like I said, if I wanted to be a bachelor again, I would have bought that car.
BTW - I'm working on the wife for the 09. Shit, I just got done making lunch and cleaning the kitchen. I hope I still have a little in the way of cajones left by the time the new V is being sold. |

I have faith in you Tony.
I'm sure you'll get it done.
Not that you need an 09.
Joe said he thought your V was "really nice" also.
