Clear bra was first on my list, but if you don't do that then DEFINITELY a shifter.
Pic? See avatar.

I've got the B&M and love it (it's cheaper than UUC, check eBay). There's a couple more, but much lower market penetration. Whichever product you get, buy the UUC bushings from Lindsay, too.
As far as the install, the most difficult part (and it's not really THAT bad) is drilling out the two rivets holding the stock shifter in place. For non-grease monkeys, I'd suggest getting someone to help you or actually do the install for you.
Best mod you can do! |

And with the winter wheels/tires:
I'd say go for an exhaust first (well, 2nd, after the tint). The car sounds OK stock, but a good exhaust makes it sound like an Uhmurrican V8 is supposed to sound. I've only heard the Magnaflow (what I have) and Corsa in person, to me they sounded very similar. The Magnaflow can be had off Ebay for around $600, which is pretty much an unbeatable deal.
I just did the UUC shifter a couple weekends ago and I'm decidedly unimpressed. The general consensus on the forum is that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I don't see what the big deal is.
Oh, and I don't think I've gotten a single negative comment on the color. It really does change quite a bit depending on the cloud cover (as you can see in the pictures posted so far), sometimes looking more slate blue and other times looking more gray. I like it a lot, and it seems to fit the car's personality.

Re UUC shifter: did you replace the soft rubber bushings? If not the shifter will still feel like it is hooked to bungee cords.
Other mod to do is the CAGS eliminator. (1-4 shift) |
