    New 2 the forum

Hi everybody I have been using your forum for about 2 months now not as a member. I was able to unlock my navigation in my 2005 cts v and have been able to turn on movies while i drive for my passangers ( thank you ). I am currently starting to upgrade the car i have done 2 JL audio 12 inch W3 with a 500/1 JL amp( the bose 10 inch sub was too weak 4 me ). But I want to put some performance parts on the car I just finished installing a FIPK K&N in the car last night and wanted to put a chip in it Hypertech Jet ect. Also was curios on which short throw to install I have always been a fan of B&M and am curios what other caddy owners like. Also I am wondering how much horsepower could I expect to gain If I do intake chip exhaust short throw. what parts do you guys have? how do you like them? wher can I get them?.

    Let me know Joe

I can only speak to the shifter, I have the UUC shifter and it was without question the best money that I have ever spent on one of my vehicles. You can search for a supporting vendor, Lindsay Cadillac and Luke will make you a package deal with the shifter, bushings, and anything else that you need for you "V". Welcome and good luck on your transformation! My Best, Rob

    Welcome to the Forum!

I love modding this car but I would stay away from that hypertech tuner though.

See my sig if your curious about mods and if you have any questions about any of them just ask.

    So Far,
Luke at Lindsay Cadillac has been great to work with
StealthV did a great job on the Tune on my car
B&B all the way back, nice fit, nice sound, Bad A$$!
I have liked everything from UUC so far

If your trying to go budget either try to get the above used or B&M and Magnaflow I hear are pretty good.

You may want to leave it stock like JimmyH though, he seems to be really happy with it. Not sure how he deals with the stock shifter though. I wish he was in the Bay area, I would let him drive my V and he would see why the shifter and the bushings should be swapped.

UUC shifter is the most popular at just under $400 (I believe). You can snag a B&M on eBay for about $210 ... that and about $5 worth of Dynamat to subdue the reported transmission of gear noise. Either way you go, make sure you get the UUC bushings (call Luke at Lindsay) for about $30 plus shipping.

A shifter is most definitely one of the best mods you can do even though the RWHP increase is kinda small.

I have nithing on the audio or appearance stuff. Not my cup of tea. UUC is a very good choice for the shifter, it along with removing the CAGS skip shift feature are a must do (this can be done with a tune.)

Please note that there is no 'chip' latemodel GM EFI cars. I think those went away in the late 80's. The PCM is reprogamable though, so you can make changes, but there is no physical swap.

The CTS-V stock exhaust flows pretty well, you are not going to see much if any gain from putting on a cat back. There are some serious gains to be made with headers and/or aftermarket cats.

With just a tune + K&N + catback, I'd expect you will pick up 10 - 15 rwhp. Do Headers and you are looking at about 30 more.

Contact Luke Butler at Lindasay Cadillac Part Dept. They are the inter- galactic parts supplier for UUC's Cadillac lineup.

    Good luck, and welcome.
