Drive it. Honestly. Hire someone and fly them back home.

    That's my .02.

I just shipped one in an enclosed trailer for $1050, about 1450 miles from Iowa to Florida. It took 2 weeks to get it on the schedule and will take 2-3 days in transport. PM me if you need the shipper info.

I used Angels Moving Autos when my V shipped from Kansas to California. I think it was around 800 for an open trailer. I was very happy with their communication, and the car arrived in three days.

Pretty much standard across the industry, if you want it fast, it will cost $$$$$$$$, if you want it cheap, it will take weeks, and weeks, and weeks.

Call Tammy Caviness at 903-485-2216. She shipped my 68 Z28 RS from CA to Memphis 1 year ago for $600. She is shipping (as I write this) my second V from Brooklyn to memphis for $600. Can't be beat.

$800 non covered from Ft Myers to Providence (warwck) I have used them many times. They are good. And I don't just trust anyone with my car!

And it takes about a week or depending on the weather.

When I first bought the car it cost me $1100 for three day shipping. Not the same carrier though.

ABC Transport brought my V from Studio City, Cali to Cleveland, Ohio for $900.00, open. Contact Gino 773-679-5727. It took about a week (which is fast). Be patient, these guys need to rest on a long haul like that. Hope this helps.

Sounds a little cheap to me. I scoured the internet for 4 hrs. to reach my deal with ABC.
Get it in writing, or you'll be fighting. Oh yea, a nice trick is to ask the transport co. to load it on the lower deck behind the cab, or you'll be scrubbin diesel exhaust off your new car for days.

Re: What is the fastest and best way to ship a car?

I shipped 2 from the San Francisco area to Northern Virginia.
I can't remember the name of the company, that was 4 years ago.
It was a little over $1,000 a piece.
I think it took exactly as long as they said it would, like 12 days for each of them. I shipped one to be here when I got here and drove the other, shipped it the night before I flew here when we moved.
If you are interested in the name of the company I can probably find it.
I am sure I have some sort of information somewhere on it. I wasn't about to drive from San Francisco to DC with a 2 year old, my wife, my mother in law and 2 vehicles!
