Assuming I can even get time off from work monday to go in, How bad will my car be behaving saturday night and all sunday?
Should I settle for a tire rack alignment or something of that nature as they will be open saturday?
Any better reccomendations in south florida (WPB, Boca raton, i'd even go jupiter or south to miami)?
thanks,

You should not have to get an alignment just for changing shocks. That said, if you haven't had an alignment in a while, this would probably be a good time. As Urby sez, go get a good one, not a "toe and go". Find a shop that has a Hunter 6000 machine. Make sure they have the adapters for the V before you go there. Check the FAQ for the specs. |

You should be ok in the mean time.

No hunter rigs for those guys.
I long ago got sick of bad alignments where the tech points to his Hunter readout saying the alignment is good. |

According to Hunter and a few other alignment machine companies, "caster/camber" are not adjustable on the V's but there is ALWAYS a way to adjust it, whether it be slightly enlarging the holes in the strut/whatever. Since the c/c is not adjustable on these cars from the factory, technically I would just do a toe and go on it, but from my experience at my shop, that is not always the case. Poor caster/camber will lead to all sorts of poor tread wear patterns on the tires and such. I would have it checked out to be safe.
As far as a shop goes, I would chose a reputable one over townfair/ntb etc. Just my opinion though. *Nothing against ANYONE who may work at those places * |

Certain cars, like our V's, need special bits. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
