My V is my daily driver. No complaints about shifting.

Does the 6-Speed get annoying? I drive V everyday (rain, shine or snow) and I love it ... I do about 100-200kms a day in my car and love every second of it. Traffic isn't my favorite thing, but after a while working the shifter and clutch becomes seconds nature. I don't even think about it anymore.
When my car was in for warranty work, I was given an automatic Grand Prix and it drove me crazy. I was reaching for the shifter unconsciously and looking for the clutch when starting the car ... hah |

Damn you all. I'm in Fla for the week and miss my car. I drive everday also, rain, shine or snow. I'm not one to like automatic trannies. |

if anyone has driven the DC beltway in rushhour before its kinda like a left leg workout in a manual car... you just don't notice it in the V (my opinion) |

Does the 6-Speed get annoying? automatics are for ***S! just kidding. Its great driving a stick as a daily driver. and like someone mentioned it has its bragging rights. My insurance went down from my 98 mazda millenia (never had a speeding ticket or a even parking ticket for that matter) I wouldn't worry about insurance, Again if your asking yourself or us if its going to be a hassle then don't do it.

It's my 1st manual (I had a 2000 STS before this). When I was first learning the only part I didn't like was stopping on hills...but now I hardly notice anymore and if you read the traffic right you can minimize the amount of shifting. I do hate people who stop, then move up like 10 feet closer to the next car .
Sometimes it can be notchy but I've gotten used to it and its still better than having an automatic. I don't miss the auto in the STS...only the leather and wood. |

Nope, mine is a weekend car. I have a B&M short throw on it and I could drive it everyday if I wasn't so anal about keeping my car clean and in mint condition.
It's my first manual car so I don't have much to compare it with. The clutch on the V takes a little to get used to, and the stock shifter sucks compared to the B&M.

Yes the addition of a short throw makes it a little "harder", but I wish the V would feel as positive when shifting as Mr. Vette does, even with a UUC shifter.
What are you complaining about, the shifting or the energy it takes?
If either, then don't get a manual.
Just one thing your gonna have to put up with owning a current model V.
