I get a humming noise or whining noise when driving at 45 to 55 mph while applying light throttle. No throttle I don't hear anything and full throttle it won't hear anything since the engine over powers the noise. Its very irritating when trying to drive at a consistent speed and listening to that noise. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to let me know. |

I have 4.10s in my C5 and the whine is a little louder than on my V and is most noticeable around the same mph range. |

It was the rear end. Dealer replaced it with an 06/07 version. Hum be gone. |

As it gets worse, the range of speeds that you'll hear it will widen.
If you're on warranty still, dealer should replace it with no questions asked ... ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTIONS ASKED! If they resist, go to another dealer.

They are visually different (there is a comparison picture somewhere on the threads).
I'm not sure, but it seems like most of the dying rears are the older one. I could be wrong. I wonder if anyone has done a poll on that question. |
