My car was a re-aquired one, but it was because of diff problems. I've had nothing abnormal happen in the 8k or so that I have had it. granted I'm used to Japanese cars aka appliances, but everything I've done to my car seems just fine. I guess its a case by case basis. Sometimes people in liberal lemon law states states get in a little over their heads and "make" problems. My best freind works at an MBZ dealer, and though the cars are problem prone, not ALL of them are that bad. Sometimes if the car "plauges" a loyal customer and the dealer wants to keep them, they do stuff like this too. Sometimes...the car is a POS but either way, its under warranty

Re: Anyone know about GM re-aquired vehicles

I handle final re-acquirement transactions between the owner and veh mfg (not GM products) and some of the reasons that the mfg will buy back or replace the vehicle are very minor, but the mfg just wants it done for a variety of internal reasons, i.e. - "squeaky wheel syndrome, newer/smaller mfg still building corporate image, pita lemon lawyer, customer loyalty, etc.

Several buyback stories I could tell about very minor problems... , but I'm restrained by confidentiality agreements.

Do some investigative homework. Every reacquired vehicle situation is different. There are some buyback cars out there with branded titles that are excellent buys.
