It's only the Cadillac that does not do anything for me.
V Logo instead of Cadillac FTW
My opinion is exactly the same.

I would probably been in for 2 of those babies.

    Re: New keyless Entry remotes?

I'm with Mystical on that one- maybe 4 symmetrical square buttons that overlay the current circuit board locations?

As far as the Cadillac logo, while I'd prefer a V I think we'll have to settle for Cadillac. Why? The supplier will probably have a minimum amount that needs to be ordered, and I doubt Jimmy could sell that many to ONLY V owners. If it says "Cadillac", he can sell to every forum.

This is a great idea. I'd be in for 2 for sure!! Can't believe that GM didn't but in design effort into the original fobs. I'm driving a H3 while the dealer puts a new tranny in my V and it has the same kind of generic fob.

    Re: New keyless Entry remotes?

    To answer some questions:

On the buttons; I was not planning on getting new buttons made; only the outer shell, you would reuse the board and the rubber button pad

On the logos: I would be planning on the Cadillac script and the logo crest being some kind of stickers, that the end user would apply himself. To avoid any hassles with GM, I would sell only the casing; a sticker sheet would be available at "no charge" at the request of the buyer. I was thinking Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac etc logos for the back, and the names for the front all on one sticker sheet (the V logo could be included also.) Dont worry, I would find a source for high quality stickers. Maybe Goth could do it? I will worry about that after I have the casing worked out.

This is not a sure thing yet anyway. I am waiting on my China supplier to see what pricing is going to look like. If tooling is too much, I wont have the finances to fund this.

if you won't have the finances to cover it, then open a paypal account, and take deposits...

i'd put a deposit down on my two. shoot, i'd pay in full up front. that way you'd definately have the finances

    Re: New keyless Entry remotes?

It's more complicated than that. The tooling costs could be upward of $5000. Maybe more. I just have to find out. That is why I am trying to keep it as simple as possible.

And I am not comfortable taking money up front for something that may not happen. I have a paypal seller account, but to do anything here I would want be an authorized vendor first, and I don't want to spend money on anything until I have a sure thing. I am not much of a business man. I am just doing this because I have the skills, I have the sources, there seems to be interest, and I hate the gm fob too

I just don't want a fob that gets bigger and smaller repeatedly in my pocket like that first one Jimmy posted- people might think I've got a badger in my pants or something....

I agree 5K would be a dream cost for tooling.
If it's more, I'm sure you won't have problems getting support from various forum members.

The market demand for upgraded Fob Cases would be huge.
I imagine you could supply them to every GM dealer and sell the crap out of them on ebay.
