I generally run Shell V Power in my tank. There is a GM service bulletin that says it is a top tier fuel that keeps everything clean. Between that and my heavy foot I think I'm in good shape. |

I use that in my truck every now and then but who knows if it does anything... |

I only use it occasionally (about once a year) based on that the notion that it might actually "protect fuel system sending units from the corrosive effects of certain sulfur contaminants found in some of todays gasoline". I don't have a clue if it actually does that, but it is as least plausible as compared with some of the more ambitious claims associated with these products. |

INFORMATION
Subject:
GM Fuel System Treatment PLUS Fuel Sending Unit Corrosion and Fuel System Deposits
...
The Four Benefits
Just pour in one bottle of the GM Fuel System Treatment PLUS into the fuel tank when refueling around each oil change interval:
Cleans - Sulfur corrosion from fuel gauge sending units.
Prevents - Harmful sulfur components from attacking sensitive fuel system electronics.
Protects - By coating metallic surfaces of the fuel system.
Removes - Engine deposits left from use of poor quality fuels. | I never thought of this condition before. You would think the fuel system was more robust. I wonder if this is a marketing campaign by GM for dealers to sell another service. |

I've been experiencing some engine pinging under hard acceleration, and it's been suggested that I use some kind of additive. Seafoam seems to be a general concensus, right? |

srsly tho, I am one of the few who finds it hard to believe any good can come from putting that stuff in your engine |

srsly tho, I am one of the few who finds it hard to believe any good can come from putting that stuff in your engine | I wouldn't run it in the oil, but unless you have other underlying issues it can't hurt anything running through the vaccuum line. As long as you do it VERY slowly and don't stall out the motor it should be alright. Next time I do it I'll do a log on HPtuners and see what the AFr is.

I have a '67 Bronco that I did an LSx swap into and it was hesitating big time the first few drives. I was very skeptical but threw some Seafoam in the tank and it immediately started clearing up. The stuff is awesome. |

Be careful with the Sea-Foam if you do use it...it is possible to hydro-lock your engine with that stuff...

I ran seafoam through the brake booster. I put 2/3 in slow just enough to keep the engine bogging a little then the last bit I choked the engine as per a great right up on the other forum. Let is sit for 15 minutes and cranked her up to idle for 15 then applied a heavy foot fogging up the local streets as I cleaned it out driving down the road.
