Heading to VIR on August 4-5th for an HPDE from CarGuys. v-ape will be there, so I figured I'd ping you guys to see if any other V owners are interested in meeting up and having some fun. Caravan available from Raleigh area.
Details: $425 for two days (damn good price). Saturday and Sunday (August 4-5th) at Virginia International Raceway at the Virginia/North Carolina border. Normal class-track-class-track format. Tons of fun with a crew of V owners http://www.carguys.com/calendar.html http://www.carguys.com/gallery.html http://www.virclub.com/vir/ http://www.virclub.com/vir/index.php...=21&Itemid=102 |

NC, VA Since this is my first summer back in the Carolinas in a way long time, I think I'm going to stay in either a/c, pool, lake or ocean this August. Actually I am actually going north to fish Alaska to beat the heat (and get eaten by mosquitos).
After going in June for 2 days with the Mazda folks, I may be tempted to get back quick, but I probably should go through full heat training before boiling my fluids (and the V's) during the dog days.

NC, VA Good to know you track your V Michael. I might go again at then end of the year (given the wife and I don't buy a new house). So there might be another chance for the small group of tracked V's to get together.
p.s. Have fun in Alaska...I hear those mosquitos are pretty damn big.
Rob, any comments about CarGuys to help pull these guys along?

I've gone to a majority of my events with CarGuys. The owner is very nice and gives you a lot of track time and its very safe. Not to mention VIR is world class and perfect for V's, with 2 straights and a sweet set of uphill S's.
The instructors are great, and you're usually solo'd on the 2nd day (as long as you keep it on track).
I'm not sure if the skid pad will be available, but if it is, you can run on that all you want too. Depends on if someone else is using it. Thats a lot of fun too.
Its worth $425, thats for sure. The only reason you should think about not going is if you have something planned that weekend or live too far away.

P.S. my buddy just had the rear diff changed out in his 95 M3, because it was howling like hell. I thought it was funny due to the number of diff threads we've had on here lately.

-Chris | Can't make the June event as my son is graduating that week. Tons of family flying in for that weekend. The August deal should be a go though. I ran VIR for the SRT Track Experience last year. We ran a modified north course. I say modified because I don't remember it being 39 turns or 4+ miles with two straights. I do remember one straight where we were hitting 130+. Great fun. See ya' in August! |

Did you go back to the dark side (and get a sex change)?

And that wasn't a V, it was "Kit".
p.s. Bring back Knight Rider. |
