2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V General DiscussionDiscuss everything about the first generation Cadillac CTS-V that does NOT fall into either the Performance or Appearance Modification category.
Looking over at the corvette forums and all the Vendors there are a bunch of shift knobs that I like. Does anybody know if the V and the vette have the same tranny's? I would think they are identical and I could just run an aftermarket shift knob from the corvette right on the V. Just for clarification, I'm not talking the stock knob on the Vette, it's the aftermarket shift knobs available for that car.
Not a huge fan of the GTO shift knob. I have seen one in a friend's V and it looks out of place. Also they are very light weight so the shifts feel no more pronounced than with the stock shifter.
Check out the UCC knob. There is a thread discussion by Lindsay Cadillac I believe going on right now about this knob.

The Corvette shaft is threaded and the V shaft does not have threads and it has an angled notch so the knob slides on and teeth hold it in place, that's why it's so damn hard to get off. Any aftermarket knob with set screws and the right diameter can be made to wirk.

Wow, I thought they would be the same. Thanks for the info. I see the uuc dildo shifter in my future. I just wish the boot would cover the shaft.
Just a thought... Did you try sending an e-mail to RedlineGoods? They are a vendor here and they make shift boots, maybe they can hook you up with something...
