I'm on my 3rd or 4th rear bumper. The V is extremely hard to see out of to the rear! Are you aware that any body shop can heat the bumper cover and completely smooth over dents/scratches/scrapes? Mines been done twice. Also, a good paint man can match the paint perfectly by using something akin to a mass spectrometer that completely dials in the paint on your car, including fade, etc. I don't think they even use paint chips anymore. Much less money than buying a new cover and painting it.

i asked a guy today ... he wanted 800 to do the job!
my reaction = WHAAAAAAAAT?!?!?
the thing with mine is, i was in a small accident a year ago, ( 6-6-06 =/ ) .. and i found out today that the shop that did my repair... Cadi dealerhsip ... did not gimme a new bumper, rather, they bondo'ed the old damaged area and painted over it...
a piece was cracked and pushed outward -- (the damn paint guy today pulled that piece off / broke it off !! again i was like "wtf did he do that for" and now it looks AWFUL)
how can i repair the 6 inch x 3 inch problem area on my current bumper for a low cost
or, refer me to someone who is selling a light platinum cts-v front bumper.
thanks |

thanks | I had small repairs on both the front and rear V-bumpers. They used heat for the most part and some glazing compound. About $600 for each repair including installation. |

ya, i told him, "i thought paint would cost me around 150-350 tops" ... he laughed =/
but if i get off the internet (ebay), i'm afraid the paint wont match well, or it gets messed up in shipping. ebay, about $900
gettnig from lindsay & having it done by a paint guy here about $1300...
buying from dealership, i think about $800-$900
buying used from a forum member, $???
...i'll wait it for a bit and c if any members here will sell.. |

I hope you got the bumper fixed or replaced for the right price
When I was involved in an accident with my V I found an online store with the cheapest prices around.
If it helps anyone I'll post the link. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
