The stability control has made me look like a complete dumba$$ at least two times. If you go in reverse at about 20 and tap the brakes the stability comes on and stays on until you switch out of reverse. So I was backing up in front of an SL55 and the car was jittering backwards because the damn sc was stuck on.

I understand turning off the TC and going into Comp Mode. I do this almost w/o thinking about it when I get in the car. I guess I don't see why daily driving would require turning off the entire system though. Do you like to regularly get completely sideways on the way to work? If so, then I'm glad I live up here in WA and not AZ. I'll tell grandma to make sure she looks both ways b/f crossing the street.

There is no way that I know of to keep it completely disabled.

Please post pics of your car wrapped around a light pole/tree/guardrail when it happens.

If you really want to, just pop off one of your wheel speed sensors and you will disable your stability control, TCS and ABS all in one shot.

Then I don't get the point. Comp mode lets you do anything short of getting sideways, so why the need to eliminate your last lifeline should you need it?

Professional racers from Pilgrim to Schumacher lose control of cars from time to time, and they do it for a living. No matter how good you think you are, it can happen to anyone.

Re: Deactivating TCS and Stability control without...

Rick at StealthV Engineering is probably the only person who would have the know-how to pull this off (if it's even possible), but I doubt you'll find anyone who can spell the word "Liability" to do it.

Re: Deactivating TCS and Stability control without...

Well, I know how to disable it. Let me be more clear...

I want to be able to shut it off without having to hold down the T/C button. I have searched through my PCM, and havent come up with anything.
