MotorsportsNE Autocross Sunday April 1 @ Giants Stadium

This Sunday, April 1 I will be attending the Motorsports North East autocross event at Giants Stadium (East Rutherford, NJ). I believe this even takes place every Sunday.

I am a first timer, but just made the thread to see if anyon else will be attending. It would be nice to get a few V's up there. I registered over at http://www.motorsportsne.com It seems like a pretty cool event. Has anyone ever gone before?

If anyone is planning on attending, let me know!

Man, I had to do 2 long searches to find ace996's screenname. Sorry I foorgot it as he was an experienced autocrosser and had a V for a few years. He switched to a Maggied C5 Z06 but he autocrossed at Giants Stadium a number of times. Maybe you can find a way to contact him.

I'd be tempted to go but the V is coming out of storage on Saturday and I've got a couple issues to check before she sees the track or auto-X course...

sounds like a plan for me but i'll be on vacation that sunday and next sunday i'm goin out to Captree in Long Island. but if it goes on every sunday then i can make it out there one sunday. i looked at the website and i'm lost, whow much and how do i sign up?

the site is VERY confusing! I'll post up a little walkthrough of what to do...

Membership to the "club" I guess is $35. The only reason I joined this is to get the reduced rates every time you go to autox ($30 - members vs. $40 - nonmembers).

So to join the club...
1. Click MEMBERSHIP on the left side toolbar.
2. Click the blue "viewed here" link towards the bottom of the page
3. Print out this and either mail it to them or bring it to the event.

Now to register for single events...
1. Click EVENTS on the left side toolbar.
2. Click "Registration" next to April 1 on the Events Calendar.
3. Read and click the AXWARESYSTEMS link on this page.
4. Click "Register" on the top left.
5. Enter and submit all of your information.
6. Choose to join the MOTORSPORTSNE club.
7. Click on My Garage on the left side toolbar.
8. Click to add your car...the CTS-V is in class B and choose a number
9. Now go back to the event calendar and register for the event.

I believe the first race starts at 9:45...Everything from 7:30 till then is like teching in and inspection and all that stuff...i think...i've never been before though.

I'm driving 13 hours on May 17th for a track day at GingerMan. So, yeah, 3 hours for some good autocrossing is a small price. Plus, I've got a good friend on Staten Island where I can stay.

Unfortunately, the owner of the place where I'm storing my V can't get in touch with the owner of a BMW that is blocking me. Ugh. I could press the issue but I decided not to. But I would like to make it to one of these sometime this spring...

Yeah for sure, I tried two years ago when in Boston, you come down, if I have to I'll call out sick to work. RamAir, keep us posted if they run all the time as the spring/summer goes on maybe we can get some peeps together.
