I was reading on CadillacFAQ that a rough idle on the CTS-V is normal. I just got it back from the dealer who agreed that the idle was very rough and they performed an injector service. As far as I can tell this service did nothing (I used to work at the Duke of Oil in Munster, Indiana and we did these services all the time). I was wondering how rough the idle really should be on a Stock CTS-V with the LS6 motor?
By the way the dealer that I went to was Kendrick Cadillac in Lafayette, Indiana. It was a great experience and I recommend the dealership to anyone in the greater Lafayette area.

Only rough if compared to what the old Caddy owners are used to.

To me that describes it like a normal person would think their is a problem. Between the V and GTO I don't even notice it anymore. I'd describe it as more like a smooth shake of the car. |

I had an 88 Camaro with a Paxton and a cam and the idle on that was WAY rougher, I'm just making sure I don't have a real engine problem here.

It is normal guy, don't worry about it and have fun! Does it feel like it needs a tune up like an old carb car? I am sure the answer is yes, then it is fine and normal! |

I especially noticed when i shut the engine off that things were a little rough. Since getting the motor mount fixed the car does idle much more smoothly.... |

I'm so used to it now I dont notice, but I remember when I first got it. Some people ask questions, but not many of them. Unless other people are like "What is up with your car?" I wouldnt be too concerned. You're just paying very close attention to your car right now.

The dealorship says that the motor mounts are fine, and that all they could think of is to perform the injector cleaning...does this sound right or should I be looking further into this? (I don't mind the shake, like I said I have owned high performance vehicles...I have just never owned one that is high performance from the factory)
